About Heather Aranyi

Mezzo-Soprano Heather Aranyi  is on staff at the Lyric Opera of Chicago and completing her final semester of Cantorial School. She is renowned for her unique combination of being both an elite performer and educator.

Heather works on staff at the Lyric Opera as a soloist, choral conductor, director and master voice teacher. the Lyric describes her as "uniquely gifted." She is so outstanding in her work that she leads trainings for other lyric artists on both vocal training and child development. 

Heather has emerged as a national rising star as a Cantor. Recent honors include being selected as the Cantorial Intern to lead the chanting of the omer at the Cantors Assembly, presenting at the National Women Cantors Conference on creating the highest quality family services, and being featured in the Chicago Tribune and Crains Chicago Business for her exceptional work.

Heather believes in the transformative power of relationships and music. Heather is equally at home interpreting opera, Broadway, popular music or liturgical repertoire. She has conducted, performed and directed in top productions throughout the US and Europe. 

A nationally respected voice and performance teacher, Heather teaches children and adults how to access their most powerful, versatile and authentic voice. Her students receive representation and star in top performance venues across the country.

Ms. Aranyi holds a Master’s Degree in Voice and Opera from Northwestern University as well as a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the Erikson Institute. She speaks nationally on both topics. She also trained with the Lyric Opera, The Metropolitan Opera and the Austrian State Opera House.
